The eleventh hour

Everything is crazy at the moment. People are running around the house, the phone's ringing, Dad is nagging Jessie, Jessie's nagging Mum, Mum's nagging me and I'm nagging Dad. It is all just one big crazy rush to get ready.
When Mum and Dad first announced that we were going to Europe, I didn't believe them. But now, it really feels like it is happening.
Everyone is really upset about leaving Jock (our sorta border collie) who is the cutest dog in the world and gets the most attention. I wish he could come.
Even though I am sure I will have the most amazing time in the world, I am really upset about leaving my friends.
Anyway, enough sad thoughts. We are flying out at 9:30pm tonight and stopping off at Dubai for 4 hours.  Which is really annoying because we will have to sit in the airport and be bored.
Jessie and I bought a Toy Story colouring in book for the plane which should be fun.. If they give us colouring in pencils that is. Apparently the plane food isn't the best but hey, food is food and I love it. I can't wait to try all the amazing food in Italy, Spain and France. Jessie really wants to try Escargot, I honestly couldn't think of anything worse.
I will write more soon.
By the way, I will be posting my photos on my Flickr so please check them out.

Waiting...

Bonjour tout le monde (or whoever is reading this!),
I'm Jessie, and along with my fab family (my mum, dad and sister) we're flying off to Europe in, hm, let me think...four days! Although, for me it hasn't sunk in... yet.
I have never ever thought of going overseas let alone somewhere like Europe. You see, my sister Freya and I haven't even been on a plane.
So, when our father (James) came home from work one day and, out of the blue, announced that we should travel to Europe soon, I was amazed, blown away, lost for words and flabbergasted (or all of these emotions put together). I was genuinely in tears of happiness. This was around the end of last year.
We chose our destinations we would like to visit. Mum and I knew we'd have to go to France, so that was on the top of our list. Eventually we narrowed it down to three countries: Italy, Spain and France.
Mum and Dad agreed that by visiting lesser countries, the more of the countries we'd get to see.
I can't wait for everything. The places, the people, the food, the languages and the whole atmosphere of Europe. It is going to be radical.
We're leaving two weeks into the second school term, which means Freya and I are missing out on school for five weeks. Although, going to Europe will open up a incredibly different learning experience which I cannot wait for.
We're flying into Rome, Italy which'll be out first destination. Unfortunately, this will be a twenty-one hour plane ride with a five hour stop off at Dubai, Saudi Arabia.
After travelling through Northern Italy, visiting towns such as Assisi, Florence, Cinque Terre and Venice, just to name a few, we'll drive through Southern France, and visit regions like Aix-en-Provence (hence the name - Eggs on Provence) and Nice, etc. etc.
