Chateaux Country

France is a big country. After a 4 hour drive we landed in the Loire Valley for some intensive chateaux hopping. The Loire region is laden with palaces and chateaux surrounded by elaborate gardens. No doubt a playground for the ridiculously wealthy before the French Revolution.
Here are some photos of our latest abode. It is an 18th century mill located along the I'indre River in Monts. Our rooms look out onto the fast flowing river and forest. Very relaxing. James and I went for a kayak down the river in the evening and spotted a magnificent chateaux on the river bank. I am continually surprised by what I see each day.
