The most beautiful village in France

Every village in France claims this title. But Sarlat comes close. The village was selected by the French government to be restored to its former mediaeval beauty and I must say they have done an impressive job. I will let the photos do the talking.
However, there are pitfalls in beautiful Sarlat. If you ask for a cappuccino you may find yourself drinking an expresso with whipped cream. Did they think we were Americans?
We attended the famous Sarlat market and saw a gigantic truffle which Freya was able to hold. Her expression in the photos suggests she wasn't sure if she was holding a truffle or large cow pat. More photos to come of the food - especially for our friend Elaine.
We also found a lovely property to buy with our spare cash. A lovely French villa covered in vines. A real Madeline house to keep Jessie happy. Its the villa with the sale sign in the photos.
We stayed in a very picturesque old pub called Hotel Madrigal. But had to share the room with two noisy teenagers. Arggh!
