On the way to Paris...

we saw some medieval houses and Chartres Cathedral. Chartres is an elegant town with a well preserved medieval centre and an awe inspiring Cathedral. Due to renovation works and a local scout event we weren't able to explore the interior but it's the exterior that really impresses with its buttresses. We even found a park to eat our lunch in surrounded by chickens! Parks are rarer than public toilets so we were very content to sit and soak up the warm sunshine.
